I’m breathing and deeply again. Now that our 118 day strike is over I can say that 58 days ago the project I’m most proud of, @theotherblackgirlhulu, released on Hulu. I’ve been a New Yorker for 15 years, an actress for 25, and a dreamer all my life. I’ve been dying to share how impactful this job has been, but gonna start with this. Just me screaming in Times Square.

“Something about this journey has been about never arriving. The journey is the destination.” This reminds me of things my mom and aunt have said to me over the years. I don’t consider what I do for a living easy, especially since it requires such fierce vulnerability among other things. It’s hard. Quite frankly it’s one of the most terrifying things for me, but I know the impact it can have; on those who see it and myself. Whether it’s the universe or the algorithm, this was great to hear🩷
