Ashley Scott Instagram – It’s hard to express the deep love and appreciation I have for this man. At a Halloween gathering 4 years ago, I dressed as Cindy Crawford heard a southern accent across the room. It was overwhelming familiar and I remember feeling pulled to him. Forrest, dressed as Ernst Hemingway met Cindy with the same undeniable attraction and excited intrigue. We literally fell into each others arms and have stayed nestled there ever since. We met eyes, we both felt that knowing feeling. There was safety in our gaze. It felt really really good! I had spent much time alone, healing from a divorce, weary & crying the good ugly cries. My focus was on my healing and creating a healthy home life for the girls. I was doing it and had turned the corner, having done the hard work of letting so much pain go. Open hearted, God led Forrest right to me. We found that we lived 6 min away, we were the same age, raised in the South, had strong loving families, raised with the same values and both of us loved to eat good food. Forrest had been in a relationship as long as my past marriage almost to the day and wanted but never had kids. Here we were face to face. He opened his heart and home to the girls and has held them close as if they were his own. Never wanting to replace their Father but always wanting to show up in the ways he uniquely can. He nurtures us all in so many special ways. I have never known a more hardworking, loving generous, good hearted man in my life. Oh and he can’t lie, just won’t do it! 🙂
He’s got us, all of us and now we will officially live out the rest of our lives together. With easy, gentle love… Here’s to the second half of life, Forrest. May we remain safely wrapped in love and light until death do us part.
