Dawn McCoy Instagram – Today, one of our @lovingwayfoundation families got the justice they deserved…and one of our beloved Loving Way Advisory Board members, DDA Bethel Cope-Vega of Orange County, successfully prosecuted the case that resulted in a conviction and a 7-year & 10-month + 7-to-life sentence of the stepmother who abused and tortured the 10-year-old girl. That last part is the important detail here. This is a LIFE SENTENCE – as long as the parole board chooses to keep her incarcerated – and she will serve almost 15 years before being up for parole. We want to send our love to the victim and her mother and siblings who have lived through the impossible. We pray that this new chapter is a healing and happy one, filled with… Soft beds & fluffy blankets…. Warm baths & bath bombs… Cupcakes & movie nights… And unlimited sunshine on your faces. We sent flowers with our Loving Way colors on behalf of Loving Way to DDA Bethel who helped make this justice possible – and who not only helps prosecute for the children in her jurisdiction but helps support and protect all children, including Waylon and so many more abuse victims through both her career and her service through Loving Way Foundation. 🩵🩷 “We sleep in soft beds with fluffy blankets surrounded by more pillows than we can count.
