Debbie Gibson Instagram – I’m so thrilled to be playing for Second Chance Dog Rescue tonite 9/8c @abc.tv on @celebritywheeloffortune ! 🐶❤️ I met @joe_a_altieri of @rnrrescueav when my friends @fredcoury and @whatsamotta pointed me in his direction on Instagram when I was trying to save this beauty Henry you see pictured in this post. Henry was less than 24 hours away from euthanasia when I saw him highlighted with an urgent plea on @adopt_sanpedro. It took a village but we got him out of the kill shelter. He was then given a 6 week window to live as he was diagnosed with cancer. Well… after 2 years on Joe’s ranch, defying all odds, Henry just crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 so it is so fitting to be playing in honour of Henry and all the worthy dogs looking for a safe place to land and for Joe and all the work he does to save one dog at a time. The love and care he puts into each one is truly the meaning of “rescue”. So many kill shelters are over run and doing their best in a system that does not make it feasible for facilities to take care of the overwhelming amount of animals coming in as strays and owner surrenders. Please… if you cannot care for your pet, responsibly re-home them. But dumping them on a highway or at a shelter is cruel and millions of animals are being put down each year. It’s an epidemic. Tune in tonite 9/8c ABC and also will be streaming on Hulu !!! My competitors @timgunn and @loueyfromthehood are goooood. It may be a nail biter ! But fingers crossed 🤞🏽!!! Let’s do it for the dogs ❤️🐶 PS : Henry is a pitbull, a breed often deemed as a liability and wrongly profiled. The only danger I was in was being kissed to death. Sign me up for that 😉 He also became fast friends with my Doxie Joey ! A sweetheart thru and thru. Rest in peace and power sweet Henry and thank you Joe for giving him the best years of his life ! #celebritywheeloffortune #dog #dogmom #dogrescue #pitbull #putbulls #pitbullsofinstagram
