Ilfenesh Hadera Instagram – I know you all must be inundated with #givingtuesday messages but one final one from me (for today) if you can stand it- your gift to @afrikininternational will help us provide, HIV/STI & TB testing, counseling and treatment, nutritional support, supplements and medicines from our onsite pharmacy, and continued partnership with local bee farmers for income generation in floral cultivation, hive construction and repair, honey extraction, packing and marketing. AIS is staffed exclusively by Ethiopian professionals and paraprofessionals who have been trained to work in global human rights and global health settings. Ilfenesh Hadera Instagram – Dear friends & supporters of African Services, In August, my parents were forced abruptly to sever ties with ASC, the organization my father founded in 1982 and has led together with my mother, for the last 42 years. After a lifetime of service, it was a turn of events that none of us could have, in our wildest dreams, anticipated. Rather than engage in a bitter legal battle, we agreed as a family, to let ASC go and instead focus on the health of our Ethiopia- based clinics, which through the grace of God, remain in our care. The last four months I’ve watched them channel heartbreak and anger into renewed purpose and commitment to community service and I couldn’t be more proud to introduce you all to their new non-profit organization #AfrikinInternationalServices @afrikininternational It has been my greatest joy to be able to help them through this impossible situation and I am so deeply grateful to the friends and colleagues who have been my support throughout. A very special thank you to @gelila.bekele for making time to meet with us during your multi-city press tour (and for being our very first donation!!!) To @estudio.mescla for a beautiful new logo that reflects who we are-Afri-Kin, and to @infornographic for all of the hours you poured into building a website that both celebrates my parent’s history in the nonprofit sector & solidifies their place as contributors to a better future for Africa.
