Ilfenesh Hadera Instagram – Dear friends & supporters of African Services, In August, my parents were forced abruptly to sever ties with ASC, the organization my father founded in 1982 and has led together with my mother, for the last 42 years. After a lifetime of service, it was a turn of events that none of us could have, in our wildest dreams, anticipated. Rather than engage in a bitter legal battle, we agreed as a family, to let ASC go and instead focus on the health of our Ethiopia- based clinics, which through the grace of God, remain in our care. The last four months I’ve watched them channel heartbreak and anger into renewed purpose and commitment to community service and I couldn’t be more proud to introduce you all to their new non-profit organization #AfrikinInternationalServices @afrikininternational It has been my greatest joy to be able to help them through this impossible situation and I am so deeply grateful to the friends and colleagues who have been my support throughout. A very special thank you to @gelila.bekele for making time to meet with us during your multi-city press tour (and for being our very first donation!!!) To @estudio.mescla for a beautiful new logo that reflects who we are-Afri-Kin, and to @infornographic for all of the hours you poured into building a website that both celebrates my parent’s history in the nonprofit sector & solidifies their place as contributors to a better future for Africa.
Ilfenesh Hadera Instagram – To me, the biggest indicators of success have always been invitations to engage in acts of service and the gift of sharing space with those I admire, who inspire me. Last week I had the absolute privilege of joining @loueyfromthehood and @aristotlebam at a screening of their incredible film @storyavefilm for the MSG classroom mentorship program. Coming out of LaGuardia where I was a drama major for 4 years, I always felt like I had such a leg up on my peers who left HS not knowing what they wanted to do. @gardenofdreams is providing these brilliant young minds a direct pathway to a successful future doing what they love. Thank you @msgnetworks @sdschoenberg,Louey, Aristotle and Cemi for bringing me in but thank you most of all to these kiddos for their enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and vulnerability, the world is yours.
