Jennie Jacques Instagram – Please swipe for a beautiful picture – not just brains 🧠 😂 * Reading is like a sharpener for your mind – ya mind being the pencil ✏️ 💥 In the same way you might try to eat healthy & go to the gym for your body, please don’t ignore this medicine – if you are able to read more books 📚 do it – then do it again… some people are not well enough to read books &/or may require help to read for many reasons… could be sight, might be having never been taught properly – it’s a luxury to pick up a book 📖 so please appreciate & nurture it, if the gift 🎁 exists within reach for you! Give it a go… * I used to devour scripts weekly but in my 5th year with the illness ME/CFS (despite significant improvement 🍀 😜 ) acting 🎭 for now is on hold! People ask if I miss it? No, not particularly. I miss running 🏃‍♀️ around a park more. Or swimming miles in the peace of the open water 💦 ❤️ * Rather than dwell on what I can not do physically, I read most days & more recently started writing – with a VERY sharp 👌 ducking pencil 😂 🦆 Reading can be a life saver… * Those with #severeme are often left in the dark unable to do anything #millionsmissing – reading or listening to audio is often out of reach… I am extremely lucky to be seeing the steps towards recovery ❤️‍🩹 that I’m experiencing & if it continues I will fight hard for those who do not & cannot get better. * I don’t know if it’s just sheer good fortune & timing which is helping me slowly but surely function again – &/or if it’s been helped somewhat by some of the research & meds that I’m on/have been on; inclusive of #hbot – but I’ll be writing 🖋️ an article to share my journey in case it could help anyone else #longcovid #mecfs – ultimately it’s the science 🧪 🧬 behind “post” viral illness that needs funding! @polybiorf is one which you could donate £ if you’re in a position to help out 😊 otherwise just be kind & understanding if you know any person with this horrific condition #lymedisease #ebv #longcovidawareness #me #chronicillness #pots #dysautonomia * #readmore #readreadread #books #bookstagram #brainfood #stories
Jennie Jacques Instagram – A heartwarming book 📖 written with a splash of good humour, a spoonful of love, stirred with a clear value for life; positive ageing bubbles 🫧 throughout, which I absolutely love! @joanna_nell_writer I read most of the latter half of this book with my Nan sat reading next to me on the sofa 🛋️ #memories but it’s also been on a couple of adventures to the oxygen tank #mecfsawareness #msawareness AND a lucky 🍀 dip in the pool in line with some fortunate and truly amazing health improvements 😊 * Chloe, the doctors 🥼 daughter (teen) volunteers to work at the hospital cafe, with two older ladies; Helen the “prickly” Manageress and Joy her dedicated tea-serving soldier – a little clumsy but lovable! * Despite being dated, the Majorie Marshal Memorial Cafeteria, has character, charm and provides a safe space for families who have loved ones at St Jude’s. * With the threat of a “modern” chain cafe called Platter (vegan , organic, gluten & dairy free 💥- but you’ll need to remortgage your house for a cup of coffee) the three women unite to get the community on board and help keep scones, jam, cream and a cuppa English tea with cow’s milk available. Part of plan B, once Platter is up and running, is to eradicate the old cafe 😢 * While sometimes it’s important to let go and know when to walk away, it’s also just as vital to know when to hold on and refuse point blank to give up ⬆️ The tea ladies address both, head on! And it is mighty 💪 uplifting to read! * This is a book about unlikely friendships, loyalty, birth and death, facing fears and being true to oneself. Small acts of kindness and compassion sprinkled through out, make it a truly special book. Highly recommend!
