🤓*Animation Nerdy SLOWMO Alert* 🤓 Here is a scene from The Wife of Bath an animated film we made in 1998. All animated and coloured on the same sheet of punched A3 photocopy paper. Yes one layer & the background was drawn on every drawing! Wah? No compositing just sent straight to the camera to be shot on film. AfterEffects hadn’t been invented! Clip one is normal speed of 24 frames per second or 12 drawings per second. Followed by the same scene in slow motion. You can see the whole film on Beryl productions website on Linktree in Bio. Had the pleasure of visiting the @mcranimation festival for a couple of days this week. Listened to some great talks and saw some fab films. I’m proud to be part of a community that is so inclusive and supportive…and all slightly batty! Here are some sketches of animation folk. 1. The lovely actor and voice over artist @davidholtvoiceactor listening avidly to a discussion. 2. The wonderful actor/performer @thatamygledhill who hosted the awards ceremony with such skill and humour. 3. A very focused Ryan Beaird from @getanimatedconf . 4. Andrew gave a talk about the importance of drawing which I sadly missed. 6. @beckymayperryman on a panel talking about the short films format. 7. A belated post about my lovely week at the animation course @filmuni in Babelsberg Germany. I’m late posting this as felt wrong posting something so joyous with continuing horrors in the Middle East. I just want to say a huge thank you for inviting me and making me so welcome. The students were from all disciplines of animation – CGI, stop motion etc and different years but all played the game and forced themselves out of their comfort zone to animate on paper. Hats off to them for being so willing! 1.
