Journey Kay Instagram – Some late night silliness after class @therockcenterfordance today wasn’t required and honestly after getting back from NYC mid-day Tuesday after a 5 hour flight going strait to class all evening sleep. Up at 5:30 for school, cheer after then strait to dance wash rinse and repeat today she was it feeling it! Sometimes you need a rest and she was debated while eating dinner. Ultimately she chose to go to class. I was thinking I would pick her up exhausted, tired, maybe even stressed. But on the drive home Journey said “you know, I was thinking about it and honestly that was a much better way to spend my time tonight then just laying around doing nothing” she had the chance to challenge herself tonight and it ignited her love. Sometimes we need the reminder that starting is the hardest part. Putting on her leotard for ballet was WAY harder than actually doing an advanced ballet class. An example I teach my kids is 54321 I learned from @brenebrown When you know you need to do something. For example GET OUT OF BED. Don’t give yourself the option, don’t snooze just count 54321 and sit up! Once your up your basically half way to your goals. So grateful for a space like @therockcenterfordance that she comes out of better than she went in. Not just as a dancer but also as a person. For me as a mom my 54321 was DECIDING we were moving to Vegas. The how’s, the what’s, the where’s, the “Will we have a support system” “where will you work” “Do you have family there” all the what if’s could have all deterred me but I knew it needed to happen and before I talked myself out of it I “shot up out of Utah” lol knowing that staying where I was was only bringing me down and nothing about that was what’s best for our family. Featured in the videos lol Kru who just made @vegas_elite_hoops 8th grade travel team and my Aris who is playing flag football for the championship team here in Vegas. Super proud of them! Matyx hates the camera and attention so we won’t mention he scored the highest reading score for the entire 8th grade. 😉
