Journey Kay Instagram – Wow this feels like forever ago. Ok it was! Journey was 3 when she did this living doll photoshoot with @pinoyludwig less than an hour before the shoot the makeup artist the photographer Carlo had contacted backed out. This left me (mom) @brown.lauren with 2 options. Cancel/postpone or grab what I had on hand head to the shoot and see what I could do.
The whole thing turned out better than I could have imagined. I got some pushback from “friends” and family for allowing her to do a shoot like this. You honestly wouldn’t believe the kind of messages I was getting. 🙈 I lost friends over it! I’m Serious! But it could have been much worse… what I could have done was listen to the haters. Never shared these, never followed our path. Bought into their idea that if Journey plays a “dark role” that somehow changes the sweetness within her. Journey had a blast acting creepy making us all giggle and playing with the creepy doll I “enhanced” lol
I guess what I’m saying is follow your heart! Let haters be exactly who they are. 👊🙌
