This is Yarden. She was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th along with her husband and their 3 year old daughter Geffen. Before the terrorists got to the border she and her husband jumped out of the moving car. They ran for their lives, under fire. Yarden was holding Geffen in her arms. In a spilt second decision Yarden gave her daughter to her husband so he could run faster and hide their daughter. They hid for over 12 hours and were eventually saved. Yarden was kidnapped again and taken hostage. She and her sister-in-law Carmel are hostages of the terrorist group Hamas.
I met with Yarden’s family who are doing everything to get her home safely.
As a mother I can’t imagine what she is and has gone through. I think about what I would have done in that same situation, it’s unfathomable to me to make such a brave choice and yet I think every mother I know would have done the same thing.
