Kate Beckinsale Instagram – My oldest friend from playschool sent me these pictures . She lost her father very recently and found these old pictures and despite what she is going through sent them to me . This is the family that took my mum and me in ,that first horrible Christmas after we lost my dad .Months later I was terrified by hearing the news on television and couldn’t articulate why. , being only six . ( I had seen my father’s death reported multiple times over and over and couldn’t bear to even hear the music heralding a news programme .)AlI I knew to say was “I’m so sorry I’m allergic to the news and you might have to turn it off.” And he did . In his own home ,whenever I was there, no questions asked . And did not humiliate me by saying that people can’t actually be allergic to the news .Very thankful for this lovely family and their kindness to me during the hardest time and beyond .
