Lisa Whelchel Instagram – Spent an incredibly memorable day celebrating my daughter @haventhepodcast’s birthday. She came up with a fabulous idea! We met for lunch and pretended we had been introduced by mutual friends but had never met before. We asked each other all the questions like, “Where did you grow up?” “How did you meet your husband?” “Tell me about your kids.” “Do you have any siblings? Tell me about them.” “Do you go to church or have any spiritual practice?” We walked around shopping and “getting to know each other.” Besides being a ton of fun, we felt like it was a really important exercise. Sometimes, the people you feel like you know the most you stop learning about or being curious about. You keep them in an old box they have outgrown and you didn’t even notice. We all evolve and change and grow. Our loved ones are worth getting to know all over again regularly. I so adore my baby girl and so admire the woman she is and is becoming.
