Melissa Navia Instagram – My sister surprised me with two ceramic egg cups that she made as her first project in pottery class. She decorated them with hand-painted elephants on one side, tiny hand-carved bees on the other, and “For Brian” on the underside.

I honestly don’t know how this past year of grief on grief on grief would have been possible without the thoughtful, creative, intelligent, attentive, intuitive, and downright incredible people in my life and in Brian’s. From New York 🍎 to Toronto 🖖 to Ireland 🇮🇪 to Colombia 🇨🇴 to places near & far beyond. Thank you to everyone who keeps surprising me in ways both big and small. And please, please, please if you know someone in your life who is grieving, find a way to not only remind them of your presence but to remind them of the presence of the person they are missing most. When they come out of the fog, however long it takes, they will remember.
