Monica Malik Instagram – Sometimes, things don’t go as planned in life. As clichéd as it sounds, it is a universal truth. We all have had our fair share of disappointments and setbacks, yet some of us choose to fight back and stride forward.
During COVID-19, I realized that instead of chasing success for the sake of it, I should focus on doing something I truly love. I had taken multiple risks all at the same time, and it wasn’t easy navigating through all of them at the peak of the pandemic.
But I had made up my mind that no matter what, I would march forward and do what I truly wanted, rather than what I should. I decided to create content around things I was truly passionate about. A few months and some weeks later, I realized I was fully at peace with what I was doing, without expecting any major return. I enjoyed waking up every day and working hard to do what I loved—creating content around subjects that interested me, and I felt confident about it, while constantly learning and growing.
Of course, there were tough times too. Being a content creator is tiring, and it’s hard to stay motivated at all times. It has its challenges, just like any other job. But I kept going, and I guess it paid off! Not suddenly, but gradually, one day at a time.
I am thrilled to share that Forbes @forbesindia recognized my work. It’s like a dream come true! This shows that when you follow your dreams, amazing things can happen, even if they take you on a different path than expected.
Without sounding preachy, I would just say to those who care—my friends, don’t be afraid of making mistakes or experiencing failures. See them as opportunities to learn and grow. Keep pursuing your passion and never give up. Believe in yourself because you never know where your dreams might take you.
