Nicole Elizabeth Berger Instagram – I am grateful to share that “Ali’s Realm” won the Mela Hudson Award of Excellence at @firstglancefilmfests, honoring Mela Hudson, a First Glance alum and incredible artist who passed away from mental-health issues in 2018. The Award recognizes a film with a strong female lead who deals with mental-health concerns; my character of Ali Newton not only faces the tragic death of her best friend but faces mental-health challenges and struggles with the lack of understanding from those around her. I hope “Ali’s Realm” can provide the space for people dealing with mental-health conditions to feel seen and be heard. Thank you to the festival organizers for this great honor 🙏🤍🎥
