One year ago on this date,I joined the #bharatjodoyatra in Telangana walking besides @rahulgandhi for 10 kms. A short distance physically but long enough to give me a better understanding of the man himself & most importantly the feeling that resonated on the ground,out on the streets, in the hearts of people. I was the first from Bollywood to join and did so to reinstate my faith in the diversity of our great nation. The India that refuses to be reduced to one language,one colour,one ‘sur’. All of us are better than one of us and I will join hands and walk with anyone and everyone who dares to propagate love in times of hate and talks about unification in the real sense of the word. Beyond that I have no interest in politics nor the power game. We are artists and that means shunning power. What it also means is standing up for what one believes in,especially when it is not convenient nor popular and ‘walking one’s talk’. Grateful to have been part of this milestone in History. For the experience,the understanding,the generosity,the humility 🙏
Long live Bharat! Long live India. We are blessed to be born to this rich,diverse land. 🙏🇮🇳
