This was the album that played a big role in bringing Trip-Hop to the forefront of people’s attention. However, what’s great about is how the band crafted this beautiful sound by making the music slow, full of narcotic rhythms and hypnotic samples, which is coupled with film noir production. This big level of musical sophistication is exactly what caught the attention of music fans who were caught up digging the bands of the 90’s. From a musical standpoint the music features brilliant atmospheres that were brought to life by Adrian Utley’s brilliant guitar work and Geoff Barrow’s fantastic use of the turntables and keyboards.
