Stacey Farber Instagram – I flew here in the pandemic on a one-way ticket with no job, no friends or family, no home, and no understanding of why I was doing it aside from the fact that it felt right to me intuitively. It was a ‘calculated risk’ and a sense of movement when life was stagnant; a sudden and surprising pull in a new direction that I couldn’t ignore.
Then, I got lucky. The work came quicker than I’d hoped it might. And the friends who felt like family (maybe because we connected in the depths of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC?) did, too, along with other unexpected gifts.
I thought I’d stay for only two or three months, but my experiment stretched into a year. After riding out some highs and lows while living alone in a new, partially-locked-down city, I feel tougher. Stronger. And—my biggest win, I think— a lot more self-trusting. I’m ready to hit the road again to meet whatever’s next.
