FPUC (Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation) is one v important thing helping artists survive and is set to expire on 8/1 3. not helping people who literally CAN’T go back to work is whack AF and also dumb economically (arts make up $800+ billion of our GDP) 4. oh and at a time when we should be doing everything to lift up BIPOC and tell diverse stories (that includes economic diversity), those very groups are in danger of being pushed out of our industry 5. ok maybe it was faster to watch the video but if you’ve read this far, follow @beanartshero and go to beanartshero.com to get resources on how to contact your senators and ask them to extend FPUC. 6. it only takes a few minutes and you will be speaking up on behalf of an industry full of people who want nothing more than to make things for your eyes, ears, heart and mind to enjoy once it is safe to do so. 🙏🏽 cc: @kirstengillibrand @chuckschumer
