Zulay Henao Instagram – WAR WORDS written by the amazing @michellekholosbrooks directed by #JennySullivan – Produced in partnership with @newbeginningssb an association dedicated to serving veterans in need. This play brought me back to life in so many ways, of course as an artist, but we’ll get to that later. I always knew my experiences in the military weren’t unique to me. I know of so many people whose experiences span the spectrum of emotions, from physical & emotional pain, to also those invisible wounds that no one sees. These monologues are from real soldiers, they are raw, unfiltered, poignant, prideful, and mostly heartbreaking. If you’re in NYC I urge you to support the full production starting November 10th- Dec 17th- let’s bridge the gap, create space and understand one another more. Everyday. As an artist this production breathed life into me, I feel so human and so invigorated to find more stories to tell, more ways to feel and more ways to connect.
