D.J. “Shangela” Pierce Instagram – I love my Mommy. I’m Proud of my Mom. I see her trying. I see the effort. We both sometimes fall short of our health goals, but the important thing is to never give up. Never feel like you’ve gone so far that you can’t come back. Because you can. My mom is a Type II diabetic which is why I’m always nagging her “did u take ur meds? Did u exercise today? Have you been drinking enough water?” I know she’s the parent, but sometimes we have to parent each other. My mom was a live-in caregiver for Grangela, and now I’m encouraging her to make herself and her health the priority. And she’s doing the work. I’m sorry I nag, Mom. But I care. The way I know u care about me, and continue to push me forward when I stall ❤️ Here’s some encouragement for all y’all as we move toward 2024. If we can do it, and not give up .. y’all can too! Love u guys! Xo
