Dan Deacon Instagram – ‘Great Photo Lovely Life’ is out now on HBO. I think the Rolling Stone review put it best with their summary: “‘Great Photo, Lovely Life’: A Filmmaker Bravely Confronts Her Pedophile Grandpa. HBO doc sees Amanda Mustard turn the camera on her grandfather, a serial pedophile who terrorized her family and countless others.” I work in non-fiction a lot as a film composer but this is my first project where the director and the subject matter are so interwoven and (actually) directly related (like literally). Amanda Mustard you are amazing. I think few people could have navigated this with such grace and care with artistic vision as Amanda and she fucking crushed it (and she also plays marimba on the score!!!). Everyone on the team was amazing to work with. Thank you directing team Amanda and Rachel Beth Anderson and for having me on board and for helping to shape the score together.
