🚨 Breaking News: Verdict in Brianna Ghey Murder Trial 🚨
Both defendants have been found GUILTY in the tragic murder of Brianna Ghey. This verdict marks a significant step towards accountability for the heart-wrenching loss of a young life.
Brianna, a 16 year old trans girl, became a victim of transphobia—a contributing factor to her untimely death. While not identified as the primary motive, court proceedings revealed Brianna’s vulnerability to bullying linked to her transgender identity. The defendants exchanged messages filled with transphobic slurs, references to her genitalia, and the dehumanising label “it.”
This transphobic language played a perilous role in dehumanising Brianna, highlighting the dangerous link between dehumanisation and violence.
During the trial, Boy Y openly confessed to adopting such transphobic language from his peers, sounding alarms about the normalisation of transphobic bullying and language. It’s crucial to address how the media and uk government is contributing to the unsafe environment faced by trans people.
Look after your trans siblings 🏳️⚧️✨ Rest in Pride Brianna 💜💜💜

I no longer wish to continue as a trustee for Trans Pride Brighton & Hove – I must resign for my health and well-being first and foremost, and to focus on my creative work.
As a trustee I have always acted to the best of my ability to solve challenges within the charity, but I no longer feel I have the strength or energy to continue that work.
I’ll always be proud to be a co-founder of Trans Pride Brighton & Hove and to have documented Trans Pride for the past decade.
For now I need to step away. I wish Trans Pride Brighton & Hove all the best and I’d love to be involved again in the future.

Embracing the theme of Trans Joy in Parenthood, I had the incredible opportunity to bring to life the heartwarming tale of a trans masculine parent’s experience of gender euphoria, beautifully captured in a spontaneous photo by their child. 🏳️⚧️🌟
This touching narrative was graciously shared with me by the wonderful team at @positiveidentities Service at Banardos. Picture this: a trans-masc individual (they/them pronouns) enjoying a swim with their 11-year-old adopted child. After leaving the pool, the child, inspired by the lighting and their parent’s radiant expression, recognized the potential for “gender euphoria” and eagerly snapped a photo to celebrate and share the moment.
A heartfelt thank you to Heather, the diligent Project Worker and Volunteer Coordinator, for making stories like these possible. 🙌✨ #TransJoy #gendereuphoria #transartist #queerartist #lgbtcomics

Transness is a naturally occurring phenomenon 🏳️⚧️✨ Thanks to @fort.london I worked with @hallucineric on this image for a very special arty 2024 calendar, where you get 12+ risograph print which you can frame all year round. Like last year, the clever crew at Fort have curated and created this calendar, a zine and stickers to pay for 1 year’s rent. You can still get one, which make great gifts too.
Working on projects like this, involving trans people, feels exciting and nurturing, particularly needed in this hostile climate.

Being trans is a part of nature 🍃🏳️⚧️
Having the space to explore who you are is a basic human right that is denied to so many. Sending Big Love to all my trans and non-binary siblings.
