#tbt 2019 🤟⚡️🤟 waiting for Slayer ⚡️
We are thrilled to introduce the new Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop @kirkhammett “Greeny” 1959 Les Paul Standard, built upon the legendary original and debuting for the first time on a core model, a Gibson-Style “open book” headstock.
“Greeny” is famous for both its incredible story and its iconic sound. Originally owned by Peter Green, Greeny was used throughout his time with Fleetwood Mac and started as a bright cherry red sunburst, but after countless shows, it faded to a pale yellow color. Its distinctive sound is partly from the out-of-phase middle switch position due to the neck pickup’s reversed magnetic polarity. In the 1970s, Peter sold Greeny to Gary Moore, who used it for three decades with Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist, even recording an album titled “Blues for Greeny.” After years together, Greeny was sold and temporarily retired, left waiting for a chance to return to the stage.
Enter Kirk Hammett. Kirk is no stranger to the pursuit of the perfect guitar, but in the case of Greeny, it was as if this guitar was destined for him. It took all of 30 seconds of playing for Kirk to understand the magic. Now owned by Kirk Hammett, Greeny has officially passed through the hands of three legendary guitarists.
Now YOU can wield the magic of “Greeny!” head to the link bio to join the list of legends.

Been playing old songs for old friends all day. Geordie Walker, RIP. He was a huge influence on me, the way he played that Gibson ES 295 … the way he played. My heart goes out to his friends and family, and his music is being played loud as hell. Killing Joke Forever !!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ photo 1 Getty Images / Ebet Roberts 📸 photo 2 by Bob Hannam @hannambob
