Questlove Instagram - Taking time out to do this 7 min exercise can mean all the difference in the world. I remember this episode 33 years ago. This is what introduced us to counseling. Way way before it was widely accepted. Many aren’t aware that not only do we have the ability to transform & manifest the future. We also have the ability to heal our past. The way our brains are wired we don’t know the difference between “reality” & “fantasy” Just like you can imagine leaving the job & the repetitive life you have now & imagine the future you want for yourself (people often want tangible proof of safety which is why we drag our feet to our fantasy) We can also replay a trauma or the traumatized into a new scenario that your mind will accept as reality. Before i fell down the @drjoedispenza rabbit hole of meditation/healing/manifesting (starting smack dab in the pandemic and uh…..so far so awesome!) I remember recording this episode and doing this exercise three decades ago. I never heard anyone talk about “failure being ok & use as a learning tool, not as a means to give up on myself” or the ideal of “imaging having the ability to access and save your 5 year old self from ____________” I been looking for this Oprah clip for eons. This couldn’t have come in a better time. This could be the most important 7 mins you invest in today. I’m just sayin. Thanks John Bradshaw 🙏🏾
