Reggie Lee Instagram – IT’S A MONUMENTAL DAY FOLKS!! As an immigrant who was born in the Philippines, my family came to the US when I was 5 and we settled in Ohio. Even as the tiny Filipino community found it’s way to each other, there was little or no sign of it in mainstream TV or Film. And even as I grew up wanting to be an actor, I had to look outside the Filipino community to find role models who were actors here like James Hong and Mako. And even as I forged my way to an acting career, I was playing roles with heritages that were every other Asian country but the Philippines. It’s only lately, that because I am a #Filipino that roles that I get first have been tailored to my own ethnicity. And even tho I am Filipino/Chinese, I was raised pure #Pinoy and am incredibly proud of that. TODAY, we get to see ourselves, our families, our humanity, on the big screen thanks to the amazing man that is @jokoy . He continues to humanize us through laughter, advocacy, and a deep love for the Filipino people. Thank you JO. Not only that, but I am so happy for my friends who have worked so hard in this business and get to represent us. And boy oh boy, I can choose no better representatives than @rodkneetow @themelodybutiu @livevamaria @tiacarrere @loudphillips @eugcordero @thelydiagaston @elenajuatco ! Bravo my friends!! And again, thank you #jokoy . I finally feel SEEN in the good old US of A. MABUHAY!!! Go see the film everyone!!!! LET’S GO!!! 👊🏽🇵🇭👊🏽🇵🇭👊🏽🇵🇭 | Posted on 06/Aug/2022 03:02:21
