Vikas Khanna Instagram – In 2013, when I had read about Vishavjit Singh dressing up as a superhero…..I loved it. But I was shocked to see him face so much hate & I raised my voice when people said, “a superhero cannot be with turban & beard.” This was against everything my grandmother had taught me that SIKHS have always been superheroes. They are the followers of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, the warriors, the protectors and the first ones to feed you when there were wars & earthquakes. I always saw them doing seva and I learnt to cook from the Golden Temple. So, we all came together to work 24/7 to dream & to bring change. Who knows that 96th Academy Awards will witness a Sikh with Turban & Beard to bring the message of inclusion. Representing 26 Million Sikhs around the World for the first time in history.
