Vikas Khanna Instagram – I have known about Vishavjit Singh for a decade & now being a part of the American Sikh family, I feel inspired more than ever to write this post in celebration of our community. For me, this movie is about change. Change in perspective and change in society. We strive to create a more inclusive society, we speak a lot about celebrating diversity…..but every dream requires action. For me THE DREAM would be watching Vishavjit Singh at the 97th Academy Awards. He would be the first Sikh with a turban & beard to walk up the steps in history. Those steps represent honoring the work of our ancestors and pride and inspiration for our next generation. Every generation has fought for their freedom and it’s on our generation to create the path for the next. This is for every Sikh, every person of color, and anyone who’s ever felt lesser than.
