52 years old today. Woke up to watch the sunrise, taking inventory like we all do. Never posted a picture on my birthday before but this moment felt special. This quiet felt special. I never look forward without looking back, and NEVER look back without looking forward. I get nostalgic for the past, present and the future all at once. Each one seems so precious. The only thing I’ve ever built was a miniature puppet stage so I could get a construction pin on my Weblo sash when I was a Scout. I was 9 years old. Built it out of a dog house we had rotting in the back yard. But my son, he has that itch. He imagines things and want to see them made manifest. He asked me to help him build a work table to begin his journey in earnest. I was so insecure about it. But when they ask, we try. We gotta try. that’s the table in the second picture. It’s level… I did my level best. I try and do that every day. He deserves that. Here’s to trying new things… thank you Hudson Valley for giving me the space to make mistakes and occasionally get things right. WG
