Zachary Gordon Instagram – I get a lot of questions about child acting, over the years – one that especially stood out this past weekend, while meeting fans in PA, was “did I go to school while filming the movies”… long story short. Yes. And no. When you’re filming 10 1/2 hour days as a 12 year old (especially when you’re in every scene)… it can be hard to find the balance between filming, school, and a few much needed “candy breaks”. But thanks to child labor laws in the film industry, kids are required to have at least 3 hours of schooling a day, even while on set. So typically, after we got my *close up* shot – I’d rush from set, straight to today’s “makeshift classroom” (which usually consisted of random rooms at each filming location – or the typical “school trailer” we dragged along when we could – *as pictured above*) while the next shot was being set up. It was a lot of fun. I thrived amidst the chaos. I can’t imagine how difficult it all would’ve been if I hadn’t always had a smile on my face. At least, until I actually had to sit down and solve a bunch of math problems. Probably what I was in the middle of doing, when this photo was taken. But a valuable lesson was learned that day…no matter how many movies you star in – every kid still has to do their homework… | Posted on 20/Aug/2023 06:20:21
