🤎 Jupiter Bashir Mallory-McCree has entered the space. ✨🙌🏽 Arriving on 7/24 @ 7:24am, we were all overcome by his magic! Thank you to my amazing team who made this home birth Everything!!! And thank you to my superstar husband who…I don’t know y’all, words can’t express my gratitude for how he has been my anchor in this whole experience. And to my beautiful baby girl, Brooklyn, who is now officially the best big sister in the whole wide world, you rock superstar!! Wow. Life. It’s good, y’all. I love mine.
July 1998, I received tix to the Velvet Rope concert for my birthday. I couldn’t find anyone to go with me so I ended up not going. One of the biggest regrets of my life!! Fast forward to 2023, I just had a baby and committed to 40 days lockdown to heal and bond with my family. Meanwhile, the #Renaissance concert gets going and everybody is going crazy about it! I decide I cannot miss this concert! But I can’t find anyone to go with me. So on Day 41 of my postpartum journey, the day I am officially welcoming myself back into the world, after going back and forth in my mind, facing my fears and hang ups, I decide to roll to the @beyonce concert SOLO!!!! I did it!!! I WAS THERE!!! Life is good!!!! AND I HAD A BALL! 🪩 Thank you Bey for my first big night out in a minute. MAMAS! When in doubt—put on your freakum dress and JUST DO IT
I love this. Look at how just a little bit of openness from her parents allowed them to experience Black culture in a whole new way. The Dad was so into it! (Black people are not so different from him. That’s how we act when the food is good too!). Her Mom was more analytical about it, finding similarities and nuances. “Like this Korean dish but with different spices”. I thought this was beautiful. Such a wonderful way to explore and relate to a new culture (that maybe they weren’t so open to before). Warmed my heart. Made me rejoice in my spirit.
🤎✨Simply bliss ✨🤎
This is my friend @anja_akhile and she’s an incredible Black birth worker in training. For #givingtuesday I’m sharing her #gofundme in my stories to support getting her across her goal to complete her studies so she can bring her gifts to mommies everywhere. 🌿🛖✨
I had to get out of the house and boost the homie up! Congrats to @acmoore9! She just graduated from her comedy class and I don’t know why she needed it because she is already HILARIOUS. She has a tip here for anyone who is exploring stand up as a career I felt the community needed right now! 🤎✨🤌🏾

FACT: Being a mother is hard. BIGGER FACT: Being a Black mother is harder. The system is designed to set us up to fail. We need to change that. I am pushing back on the notion — and the sobering fact that we don’t deserve or need to climb mountains to have healthy pregnancies and safer birth experiences. Join us at @birthvillage_org 🛖🌿🤎
It’s Brooklyn’s day! 🎂 Today my baby girl turned four. I’m tearing up as I write this. I didn’t know I’d be so emotional about it. She is my heart. I didn’t know how much love I was capable of until she came along. From the moment I saw her in a vision I loved her deeply. When she came into my body, she changed everything. And she loved me. From the very beginning. Holding her in my womb, I felt so much love from her it was often times overwhelming. Even today when we lock eyes it’s just tremendous Love. This little being evolved me. Spun me around into the next and best version of myself. She’s sooo smart and so loving and so dramatic and so sensitive. She challenges me everyday to dig deeper, to Love harder, to be more in tune, more conscious, more aware. She. is. amazing. And I am grateful, beyond the words I have to express, that she chose me to be her mommy. She is Brooklyn Genysys. Please help me wish her a very happy birthday! My first born!!!! (Ohhhilovehersomuuuuch) 🥹😭
I’ve been working on something very near and dear to my 🤎 and I’m ready to share it with you! I believe that birth is a time to be soft and intimately commune with life, and that Black women deserve to safely and joyfully know the beauty of birth. From the desire to eradicate the maternal crisis harming Black mothers and curating my own births in a way that brought my two miracles into the world comfortably, it was imperative for me to find a way to share these resources so all Black mothers can have a sacred birthing experience. It’s what we deserve. Welcome to @birthvillage_org 🤰🏾✨ #momlife #birth #newborn #birthworker #postnatal #prenatal #midwife #maternitycare #blackmoms
It hurts. He was a master at the craft. A diamond of a soul. The warmest smile. The coolest cat in the world. He will always be loved, and forever missed. Holding you in love and light, Jasmine. Heavy sigh…💔👑🦋✨ Ron Cephas Jones

Baby Jupiter is here but I’m still taking you down the road of my birthing journey to get him here safely and strong. Meet my acupuncturist @sunflowerfamilywellness! She and I discuss all the ways acupuncture has made me strong and confident and ensured that my birth moment was the best experience possible. Come on in! #birthvillage #birth #blackmoms
Representatives and delegates headed to Capitol Hill this week to fight for the #Momnibus act which protects Black maternal health and working towards ending pregnancy related deaths that disproportionately affect Black mothers. Wondering what’s in the 13 bill proposal? Check this out ☝🏾 (@birthequity)
Now for the thrilling conclusion! Part 2 of my pelvic therapy session with @drcurlsforthegirls! When you’re working with a birthing team, you have to build a relationship because all of the work is very intimidate as you can see. When pulling together your birth team, find people you connect and vibe with. It made the entire difference as I approached delivery, how much trust I had in place with everyone. So key! So vital.
