Expressing my culture and identity as an Indian, Guyanese, Canadian artist through my music has been a world of exploration for me.
I’ve been playing with soca, folk, calypso, house, drum & bass and Indian music and mixing it in with the pop and hip hop songwriting sensibilities I’ve honed in the music industry for over a decade working with artists like Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Nelly Furtado, Natalia Lafourcade and Diplo among others.
As an independent musician I’m using my social media to test out music as I build the soundscape for my next project and the artists I’m working with.
I’ll be taking a bunch of risks and a lot of these snippets will be demos that will be messy and unfinished but they will all be coming from the honest place of a human discovering who she is through the process of play, vulnerability, collaboration and curiosity while unabashedly making her art.
