Autumn Calabrese Instagram – Someone asked me if I’ve been doing anything different lately bc I’m looking super strong & fit (their words). First, thank you ☺️ Yes, ive really been working to improve my hormone balance, with that I’ve changed my nutrition a little and my workouts. I’ve also really been working on my stress management, since that is probably the biggest thing that has thrown my whole system out of balance.
For stress management, I’ve had to release some people from my life no matter how hard that is. I’ve also completely stopped working on the weekends and have embraced down time, fun and relaxation.
When it comes to nutrition, I’ve focused a great deal on balancing my blood sugar. If you’ve ever craved sugar or carbs throughout the day, needed a nap after meals, or experienced an afternoon dip in energy, then you’ve seen some of the signs that your blood sugar needs help. I’ve reduced my carb intake slightly, and focused on getting my carbs from veggies, some fruit & a small amount of complex carbs like potatoes, rice, and beans.
Ive also worked on clearing my detox pathways. your liver, which is responsible for breaking down excess hormones in the bloodstream, as well as your digestive system, which eliminates those hormones from the body, sometimes need a little extra support. Lots of water, cruciferous veggies, minimal alcohol consumption & infrared sauna.
Workouts: I’m doing less cardio & more heavy weight training & Pilates. It’s a great balance, feels so good and has lessened the stress response on my body.
