Dawn McCoy Instagram – 6 cities in 3 weeks. 1 week-long neurological therapy intensive for Waylon with @bcrawforddc & team in Austin. 1 beauty launch with @jouercosmetics x Loving Way. 1 @NBCtexastoday shoot in another city (Galveston). 4 still shoots. 2 @lovingwayfoundation informational events/ fundraisers in 2 cities (Palm Springs & Austin). Multiple meetings with nonprofit partners. Soul-swelling dinners with friends. 2 birthdays. 3 Birthday parties. Thanksgiving. And a partridge in a pear tree. 🕊️🍐🌴 On Sunday, we flew back to LA and spent 2 nights in our cozy, Christmas-clad home – which was HEAVEN – and now we’re headed back to Palm Springs for some work stuff and important stuff… AND to go hot-tubbing with our dear Auntie @kellygolightly and to the media preview of @canopywinelounge, designed by my dear friend, @christopherkennedyinc (and pr by my other dear friend @lowiemoore @lawrencemooreassociates). And you know what? I am HAPPY. A little tired, but happy and fulfilled. Because my boy is happy and healing a little bit every day. Work is rich and stimulating and exciting and FUN! We have a super skilled, caring group of caregivers in Team Waylon – with Nadalea who travels with us, Cici here in LA and Paige in Palm Springs – which means I can work to keep it all going while he gets his therapies and healing in during school hours and and I can still be with him the majority of the day and night. And I am surrounded by friends & family who help me in ways I would never even think to ask them for. They say that that in times of trouble, the people who show up for you are YOUR people. Well, our people are the BEST – and they have been there for us in the good, bad, beautiful, ugly, heavenly and horrific. So when y’all say to me “I don’t know how YOU do it…” The truth is… I don’t. WE do. Waylon and me and Mom/LaLa and Uncle Cheese and Uncle Mattie and Team Waylon and our Squad and our @LovingWayFoundationBoard and my agents and friends and therapists and doctors and God and angels – and all of you who continue to cheer us on and lift us up.
