Dreams to do big in their personal and professional life. I've even had small conversations with some women in those journeys to understand how hard they strive to manage time and energy to make a living for them and their family! Deepika Venkatachalam Instagram – A week that had a roller coaster of emotions, but it was worth it in the end!❤️✍️ The week started with my birthday, and I was a little sad that I couldn’t do anything i used to do every year on my birthdays. But the fact that I had a roof above my head, food on my plate, and my people beside me amidst all the chaos happened outside made me better! 2 days after we got signal & power back, we immediately wanted to do something we could from our end & started to share verified volunteers’ numbers, but in a couple of hours, it grew into something big that we didn’t expect. Fast forward, the next day, we were on the ground distributing essentials to the people who were affected. (Check out the #Michaungcyclone2023 story highlights to know more about what we did) Thanks to the volunteers, Jai anna, Lokesh anna , and many more for helping us and guiding us on the field with all the necessary details. This wouldn’t have been possible without them! 🫡 The 3 days we were on the field gave us a lot of memories to look back at and have a happy smile on our faces. The moments we spent on the lorry the whole day, or the moments we spent as a team entertaining ourselves when moving from one place to another or the late nights we spent packing the things for the next day, every moment, every minute, every second will always be a core memory for all of us. :’) As much as we had fun and a lot of learnings in the field, there were a few incidents & the kindness of the people that moved our hearts. People who were selling flowers and tea came forward and donated money to help people watching us at that moment. All the Auto Annas and driver Annas helped us in loading, arranging, and distributing the things. And so many strangers on the road helped us in kutty kutty ways bought a heartfelt smile on our faces. ❤️ & the four days made us realize the love we have for our city, CHENNAI and its people. No matter what the city goes through, it will always be our home, and it will always have our hearts! 🫂❤️
Deepika Venkatachalam Instagram – POV: A day in my life…(1/4) One morning I had to decide to just take a stroll and travel through the city and look where I landed..! “A bus stand” 📍🚎 A place where mass floating population walks in and out through any day. A whole surrounding where emotions run high for each one boarding a bus. I saw college goers with bags and dreams, office goers wearing ID cards and wondering about their day and many more people who had so much work to do in the day trying to board their bus. It took me a minute to realise I was definitely privileged where I could afford a cab if I really wish while there are a lot outside who wait for a bus even upon an emergency. I just took a minute to send some prayers, luck and love to all those eyes I met that day at the bus stand to reach their dreams, wishes and desires and smile throughout their lives. 🤍 Littlest of what we could do, right? 😍 Also, with summer 🌞 scorching the city I wanted to stay simple and wore a chic white shirt and a pair of well fitted jeans! Carried a pretty printed bag ( @zoukonline ) with me to put in everything from a phone to keys to wallet to literally every damn thing. These printed bags are something very Indian and carry an aesthetic with any kinda outfit! 💟 . .
