Elizabeth Alderfer Instagram – Had the honor of meeting these extraordinary women and hearing their stories. One year ago, with the help of #30birdsfoundation these women said goodbye to their families and fled Afghanistan in search of safety and the freedom to continue to go to school.
The UN just named what we’ve all known has been happening in Afghanistan: gender apartheid.
So many girls and women are still suffering with little to do but, as one of these speakers so eloquently put it, “stare at the ceiling.”
I’m so proud to be a part of the @usofalcbs family that stepped up as the unthinkable befell this country to do what little we could.
One year on, we’re still family and there’s still so much more to be done.
