We don’t talk enough how weird deep pandemic was. #tbt
(I know it’s not over. I’m not saying that. I’m discussing the period of time where all of us that were able/had to, stayed home.)
That time period deserves to be processed. We’re all still a little shook from it.
1) running into @rivbutcher when the move seemed to be gloves and no mask?
2) Kumail at an empty Rodeo dr

4) day trips in masks
5) a ton of strangers gathered to watch the sunset at mt baldy
6) my obsession with wildlife
7) more puzzles
8) seeing friends like this
9) Biden getting elected

New shirt from @thechroniciconic that I simply had to have.
An angel who has no idea she was discussed at length on @jimmykimmellive last night.
To answer those of you who are asking- she is on medication now and having some health issues, but she’s doing great.
New ink alert!
I love this show so much. It’s romantic and sweet and funny and real.
It’s on paramount plus. Its Australian. I can’t recommend it enough.
My cat likes classical. I thought you might like her liking classical.
It was an honor to chat with him the handful of times I had the privilege.
RIP Norman Lear.
Kenny was such a great guy. So funny and so easy to talk to. I hate writing posts like this. We’ll miss you @kennydeforest.
Someone recently told me about an app called @thoughtfuldotcom that wants to help combat the epidemic of loneliness.
So I looked into it!
It has you take a pretty good quiz to determine what your connection style is, then you add info about a few people you want to be close with, and then it prompts you to check in with them on a daily basis.
It’s also got a pretty good supply of articles around social interactions- how to do them, how to tackle tough topics, etc. I’ve only used it for a week, and this isn’t sponcon. No one asked me to post this. I’m sure it’s not perfect, but I appreciate anyone trying to help people connect with each other in a personalized way.
Relationships are a plant that need cultivating. More than ever, people are horrifically lonely and also feel frozen/stupid/too vulnerable/too tired at the idea of even checking in.
So get the app (it is paid but has a free trial) if this appeals! Let me know what you think.
My only bit of advice to add is that I find speaking the internal monologue around things that feel silly/awkward usually helps. If you’re reaching out to a friend because you’re lonely and you’re worried you’re not doing it right, say that: “hey I’m trying this new thing where I check in with people I appreciate, so I’m doing it with you even though I feel silly about it, so let’s just act like I’ve been doing this for years already?”
(Also, is anyone who knows me shocked that I’m an organizer?)

Consumption list!
1) Thirsty Suitors- a cheeky and very smart relationship video game. Just the opening quiz/training section blew me away with its wit and deep self awareness.
2) What a Way to Go- a 1964 movie starring Shirley MacLaine and all of the men. It’s not a perfect movie but has some of the best set design and costuming I’ve ever seen. And it’s very meta.
3) When Evil Lurks. Gnarly. Fierce. Fucked up. Watch it.
