8 weeks ago our little family was completed by the loveliest little girl. When I name my children, I always wait a little while to see if they “suit” their names, and this little one could have been named nothing else. Thank you so much for your well-wishes, I’ve seen and appreciated them all. Apologies if I’ve failed to reply/get back to you etc. being a mummy of 4 has taken some getting used to ❤️ That being said, I am incredibly grateful, happy and feeling ridiculously fortunate, I honestly can’t believe my luck!! 💖💖💖💖 Expect lots of baby/family spam for the foreseeable…I’m over the moon and living the dream! 😜 #MyGirlsMyWorld 💖
Friday 3rd March, 2000 ❤️ Back when I was secretly screaming inside that I was sharing the stage with a whole @KingBeenieMan Back when 85,000 people went into HMV to buy my single in ONE week in PERSON 🥹 Back when Make up weren’t really saying one for us Black Girls 💄 Back when I had no children earthside, but if you know biology you’ll know they all shared this moment with me 👸🏾👸🏾👸🏾👸🏾 Back when I was 18 years old thinking this would be one of my first & last TV appearances (boy was I WRONG 😳😩) Back when I was feeling the fear but doing it any way. 💪🏾 Back when I insisted I wore this dress on stage as I wanted to show people we existed in ALL parts of history📚 Back when the life I’m living today was all a dream…💭 Nothing but gratitude for every last one of you who watched, bought, requested or supported this song…you changed my life and my legacy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So my girls have no idea how I did on @MasterchefUK, It’s so much fun watching this all with them in real time along with everyone else! ❤️ (we watch it every evening eating dinner – usually a recreation of the meal I cooked the previous episode 😮💨🫠😮💨) This was their reaction to me getting Star Cook on the episode with @itsBigZuu 🥰😂🤣 Honestly, I can’t tell you just how much I enjoyed this whole experience…and this was such an enormous highlight for me 👩🏾🍳💫🥰 Absolutely loving reliving it all again with my girlies…I’m gonna be bold and say just how proud of myself I am to have done all of this under the craziest circumstances. Also, how lovely it is to be reminded of how happy my fellow contestants were for me ❤️☺️🥹 So so glad I took this opportunity and gave it my all ❤️ #masterchef
So, last Sunday my girls and I did something a little different for dinner, we went to visit @ChefDomTaylor’s “Good Front Room” at @langham_london Honestly, it surpassed every single expectation. The food was exquisite, the atmosphere was perfection, reggae music gently playing in the background, while eating food that felt like home…but better! The attention to detail, the service, everything was second to none. We had such a beautiful time, it was also such an honour to meet the man himself (no I didn’t let on that I’m a top chef myself, I let him have his moment 🤣😭) another wonderful memory activated for me and my girlies 🥹☺️🥰 If you have the chance to pay @chefdomtaylor a visit during his residency, I would HIGHLY recommend you try and book quick fast ❤️❤️❤️

I take no day for granted, no time with them is ever wasted. They are because I Am and I Am because they are. If you know me, you know this responsibility is one I am committed to above all else. These girls are being nurtured, advocated for, listened to, taught, shown, protected, learned from, respected = mothered. I’m as proud of them as I’m proud of me. It is with the deepest joy I announce on this big big International Women’s Day that I am officially joining the cast of @hollyoaksofficial as Dr Sharon Bailey!! One day I will tell you how the universe conspired to make this lil’ dream I had come true, but just know the serendipity was REAL ☺️❤️ To take up space in this way means more than you will ever know, to work along side these talented Queens ( mi Madda and Darta 🇯🇲🤣🇯🇲) is both an honour and a privilege. @dawn7hope & @garciaabrown have welcomed me with open arms, spoken life into me when the nerves took over 😩 and encouraged me every step of this amazing journey so far ❤️ And I’m sure you can imagine every second on set with Mr @richardblackwood is like having a front row seat to one of his comedy shows!! 🤣❤️ Every single cast member, crew and everyone behind the scenes have been wonderful to work with, I feel so at home, so comfortable and so ready for it all!! As this new chapter begins I give thanks to the most high, my incredible daughters and I have to big up my damn self as well…I can’t lie, I’m Proud of Me ❤️ My first episode is part of the Mothers Day special airing on Monday 20th March on E4 and repeating on 21st March on Channel 4.
