Julia Samantha Edima Instagram – World Disability Day 👩🏽‍🦽🌎 👩🏽‍🦽 Before, when I heard about the Etoug-Ebé Disabled Center, I imagined a basic center that welcomes people with disabilities, helping them in their socio-professional integration, I saw psychological support from which these people would benefit necessarily. But it’s much more than that, believe me! I was very surprised during my first visit to the center alongside @misterworldcameroon and the members of @juliasamanthafoundation, to realize to what extent our country is widely equipped in terms of rehabilitation tools and psychological monitoring in this center. Secular arm of the State in the holistic care of disability in Cameroon and Central Africa. The National Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities Cardinal Paul Emile Léger, located in Etoug-Ebé, a district of the sixth arrondissement of the city of Yaoundé, has a plural service offering, which includes: Psychosocial care, medical- technical, educational offerings and socio-professional retraining. We learned so much from this visit, whether it was a short course on sign language, the making of plasters, we were just as moved by the resilience and strength that these people inspire, their willingness to fight to have a better life This leads me, on this day dedicated to them, to encourage everyone to question feelings of stigmatization and rejection and to cultivate empathy, tolerance and mutual aid.
