Jurnee Smollett Instagram – You guys know my fam and I love to cook! But I don’t cook with recipes! I eye it! My lil bro @jakesmollett ( the real chef of the family lol) is helping a sista turn these NO RECIPES INTO RECIPES! 🤪 starting with my fav salmon skewers 

SALMON SKEWERS 

2 LBS Fatty salmon 
1 yellow bell pepper 
1 red bell pepper 
1 orange bell pepper 
1 large onion 
12 cloves garlic (finely minced) 
1 inch piece of fresh ginger (finely minced)
1 cup low sodium kikoman soy sauce 
3/4 cup sesame oil 
1/2 cup honey 
The juice of 1 tangerine or small orange 
2 teaspoons onion powder 
A sprinkle of creole seasoning 
Sesame seeds for garnish 
Green onions for garnish 

Begin cutting your salmon fillet into 1 inch pieces with the skin on. Chop your onions and bell peppers into 1 inch pieces as well to fit nicely on the skewer. Finely mince your garlic cloves and fresh ginger. Place your salmon pieces in a large mixing bowl along with the onions, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger. Season the salmon and veggies with soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, tangerine juice, onion powder, and creole seasoning. Gently mix everything together making sure the salmon and veggies are coated with the sauce. Let the salmon marinade for about 20-30 minutes and begin placing your salmon, onions, and bell peppers on the skewers in whichever order you prefer. Grill on high heat for about 5-7 minutes. You want to get some nice char on the salmon. Serve with sesame seeds and chopped green onions as garnish and for extra flavor. Enjoy!
