Reminiscing on this beautiful experience in my life!
I had a great epiphany in therapy recently.
Due to traveling and scheduling both of my parents had to stop working to support my career and be present for my three siblings, leaving me with the financial responsibility around age 12. Which I took great pride in because I knew what it would do for generations to come and a huge blessing that I could even help out. However it caused me a lot of pain because I essentially had to abandon my childhood feelings and desires, becoming like a parentalized child, which is something some of you can probably relate to in your own way. This was something that I have had to continuously work through because I am grateful but often feel like.. I missed “IT”.
Life can be such a tragic comedy because how funny is it.. that now becoming an actual parent, and the responsibility I’ve always carried being more valid now than ever, has in fact given me the chance to feel what it’s like to be a kid again 🥹
I get a chance to explore a lot of the things I missed out on with my son. His freedom is like, the most priceless gift to me. He is already teaching me so much, it’s like he awakened the little me inside that I thought was long gone.
God never forgets, the irony always gets me 🤣🫶🏾🙏🏾

In honor of my breastfeeding days just about coming to an end 😢(we holding on for dear life lol), I want to celebrate the milk maid my son allowed me to be. What a blessing it’s been to serve my little one. Cheers to all the human cows out there and ALL the moms that feed their baby any and EVERY way they know how. We got🥛 .. period.

I am so proud of this video because it encompasses all the forms I use my artistry to tell my story. From acting, to singing and so on. Also the hope of manifesting greater stories that can affect more than just me. Financial literacy is a must and so is diversity in support for all entrepreneurs. I want you guys that love a good book to take a look, my sister has a story to tell. Just at 14 she left her freshman year of high school because our parents moved us to California for my career. Then, she went back and lived with my grandma for a year with my twin siblings while we got my career off the ground. This is HER part of the story and what SHE sacrificed for our family to have a better life coming out of Robbins Illinois.
Huge congrats are in order for my sister @lorealchanelll and her getting to tell her story out loud!!! You are such a rock in our family and I don’t know where I’d be without you. I appreciate everything you sacrificed for me and our family and I’m so happy that you are able to look at your life in this way at still such a young age and grab on to joy and healing. You are so brave and so smart! It’s because of you I could do Akeelah haha remember all them spelling bees we would do? And how at 4 and 5 you would have me close my eyes and spell Walgreen from memory hahahaha. I love you. Proud of you. “Luri luri coming down the hallway.”
