Michelle West Instagram – All dogs go to heaven and I guarantee this one pranced in there and took over the place! 😆 Jk, but not really! Yesterday was hard, harder than I had ever imagined and I DREAD a post like this because my face is blanketed with tears trying to write it but I have to give my girl the respect she deserves because if you knew me or Dean, you LOVED Roxie! My heart breaks to say that, after 17 years, we had to say farewell to her yesterday but it’s also at ease knowing that she went at home in our arms, hearing our voices during her last breath, and that she is no longer in pain and resting easy! A piece of my heart will always be with her and if you knew her/us, you know that! I’ve had her for literally almost half of my life, during a lot of learning years, so she was there for me a lot without even knowing but also knowing! She’s traveled more than some humans. Loved road trips, flights as my “therapy” dog 😂, shopping in Santa Monica on the promenade 😆, beaches, parks, and anywhere I was 😆. She was always one step behind me. She chose Dean 🥰. She laid on my belly anytime she could when I was pregnant with Charli and never left my side when I was sick during it! Then, she surprisingly, kindly, gave up her spot for Charli to sleep there. She even dealt with Charli carrying her non-stop in her final weeks and I thank her for that because it made Charli so dang happy. She had her favorites and she was our fave 😆. The dog with no rules and the one who led the pack! She let you know instantly if she liked you and literally chased down Great Danes at the park because her confidence was the size of one! She was a feisty one but also such a loving one and I’m going to miss that little love so dang much. It’ll take some getting used to, for sure, but I think she’ll send me signs and I’ll see her on the other side one day! RIP Roxie Michelle West, Nugget, Squirt, Little Toot, Little Boo, and the best one of all, Caca 😂. When Charli started to talk that’s how she said Roxie and it just stuck 🥰🥰.
