A true visionary, Henry Kissinger’s legacy speaks for itself. I remember when my uncle gave me his book “On China” when I was 14. I had never heard of Kissinger before and was immediately captivated by his stories, his brilliance, his remarkable and nuanced insight into the complex world we live in. I’d get absorbed reading transcripts of him having tea with Zhou Enlai, secret talks in Paris with Le Doc Tho, or maneuvering Sadat and Rabin towards peace, wishing I could have been a fly on the wall. Years later I would choose to study Political Science and pursue a career down a path I never expected. I credit so much of this journey to him. No one, and I mean no one, has had such a lasting impact, such a multidimensional and rich understanding of the world as it is and the ability to shape it into what it could be. Perhaps most incredibly, he never stopped learning. For 100 years, he went to the greatest lengths to immerse himself in everything from ancient history to artificial intelligence. His brilliance is unparalleled, his legacy complex. My hope for the future is that we can all learn from the greats that came before us. Their triumphs and failures. Their strengths and weaknesses. Thank you, Dr. Kissinger, for your service. May you rest in peace. #kissinger #worldorder
