December 1st – ‘tis the season.
@sjpcollection brand new silhouette, we call her OATH and she’s the perfect +1 for the holidays. Last night she proved so when I snuck her out.
Just days away from launching.

The bow that started it all.
When I saw how madly in love everyone was with this bow (as was I), a last minute detail thrown together by me and @sergenormant just minutes before leaving for the annual @nycballet Fall Gala, I immediately set out on a mission: searching for and sourcing the finest grosgrain, taffeta and satin ribbons. In many cases the vintage I was hoping still existed and could unearth.
From hidden corners of New York City, to unique and interesting places far far away, I’ve found some really special and insanely beautiful ones.
And with that, I introduce you to: the @sjpcollection Gala Bow.
From Petite to Grand in length, I hand picked every single ribbon – some almost 100 years old! – and crafted a collection that I’m quite proud of.
Our Gala Bows come with a sturdy 3-inch flat hair pin making it easy to affix however your heart desires.
Most importantly, each bow was sewed with love. And you can be assured that I’ll be personally steaming, boxing up, and shipping out every single Gala Bow order that comes in.
I can’t wait to see how you wear these.
Link to shop is in my bio.

PS. For those concerned, that bow is simply rested on Lotus. Not tied!

In 2023 I have traveled in books to various points in Ireland, India, Uganda, my home of NYC, across the George Washington Bridge to Vauxhall New Jersey, Indiana and Iran, an Italian village, Colorado, Oakland California and England. I have spent time in the very distant past and in contemporary times. All courtesy of the extraordinary writers who authored the blissfully transportive and forever remembered books I have had the pleasure of holding, reading and sharing this past year.
As always, I’m incapable of picking a favorite, nor would I, even if I was so inclined. I could not compare, nor should they compete. They are all glorious, radically and wonderfully different from one another, and simply share one ingredient – supremely gifted authors.
Some are important new voices, some voices you might already know and love as I do. If you’ve not read the ones currently available I’m thrilled to introduce these books and in some cases perhaps, the writers.
As always, please check with your local independent bookseller or your local librarian.
Happy reading my fellow readers. These were the titles I wanted to share.
Until the next ones!

Class.
It was a privilege to know and work with you. All who did, I know feel the same. You were a beautiful human and actor.
RIP Frances Sternhagen and Godspeed.

I was honored (and a bit nervous!) to have been asked to help toast @thefifthavenuehotel on their grand opening this week with a 20-foot champagne tower.
Pleased to report it remained intact.
Nestled on the corner of 28th and 5th, this hotel’s a real beauty and a very happy edition to this city we all love so.
Heading back there as soon as my schedule allows for a meal at Café Carmellini.
Maybe I’ll see you there.
Congratulations to all!
