Vanessa Evigan Instagram – I’ve been feeling a lot lately and trying to be with all that’s coming up without distraction or a need to share right away. I’ve been quiet here and taking time for in-person connection. My heart’s still heavy following the senseless tragedy at Covenant School. Having friends whose kids were in those classrooms and hearing stories of what their sweet babies witnessed left me sad and angry. I felt sick after hearing from little ones who were physically bruised and emotionally scarred from the incident. I’ve needed a moment to grieve and honor those directly impacted. As clouds lift and sun begins to shine again for me, I’m reminded that it won’t ever shine the same way again for families who’ve lost loved ones. The world may move on to the next tragedy but we’re not going anywhere. It’s been beautiful to watch my hometown rally around families and teachers. I’m proud of my husband and his team for always showing up in hard seasons and walking toward life’s storms steering people to safety and support. This is what our community is all about!
This video warmed my heart so much inspiring me to share again. Being a Mom is the most rewarding experience of my life. I‘m committed to doing my absolute best to protect my babies and lead them to become wonderful, strong, kind humans. That’s something to be proud of. Moments like these that help remind me that nothing’s as important as loving the people around us and never taking them for granted—especially family and friends. I’m proud to be my Children’s mother. It’s not an easy job, and I am nowhere near perfect, but when I was sent this sweet video that my friend @marylawlesslee & her company @nemah.co along with @perelelhealth made for me, I felt so loved, seen, and cared for. It reminded me that this journey really matters. Mother’s Day is a special day for some and a really hard day for others.
