Ada Vox Instagram – This isn’t my first go on the pageant train. I’m a former Miss Corpus Christi USofA at large, Miss Corpus Christi Sweetheart, top 5 finalist at Miss Gay Texas USofA at large (first contestant to ever get a perfect score in talent at that level in the contest’s history), former Miss Windy City North America Supreme, top 3 finalist my first year at National Continental Plus winning 2 categories, I’m also still technically the reigning Miss Montrose USofA at large, Miss Bossu Continental plus, and now representing as Miss Gay Sin City America.
I don’t just do pageants to win crowns. If I did, I’d probably have entered a lot more and have even more crowns, but that’s not the purpose of pageantry to me.
Every title I compete for is an opportunity to showcase my growth, and to learn from those around me. Being showcased in front of the community promotes opportunity for vulnerability, humility, and visibility. I see all of those things as integral in building the foundation of what I need to be a proper representation of the community & myself as an individual and an artist.
No matter how many television shows I may do, how many times I’ve performed around the world, or how much money I make; I’ll never be at a point where I’ll stop seeking knowledge and experience.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to do so as your next Miss Gay America; but even if I don’t walk away with the title, the community I’ve experienced, and journey I have taken have been worthwhile 👑
