Adarsh Gourav

Adarsh Gourav Instagram – “I have always tied my self-worth to external validation because I never excelled at anything. I was always mediocre at everything, and maybe that’s why I kept seeking validation. In fact, till The White Tiger happened, I was very unconfident as an actor. That film helped me immensely in believing in myself and my strengths as an actor, and it gave me all the confidence I needed as an actor.”

Spotted performing at a festival in Mumbai, Adarsh Gourav bagged his first role as an actor — the role of young Rizwan in My Name is Khan — after hundreds of auditions. And how did this come to be? Simply because someone asked if he’d like to act and 12-year-old Adarsh said yes, excited to see himself on screen!

And that’s how the actor’s journey began, serendipitously, much like several other things in his life. From his quirky portrayal of Ankit in the comedy series Hostel Daze to the cunning Balram Halwai in The White Tiger, and the complex Jugnu in Guns & Gulaabs to the insecure millennial Neil in Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan, Adarsh has been stealing hearts and accolades in equal measure.

An artist who has charmed viewers and showcased his versatility with every project, Adarsh has the critics’ acclaim on his side too—after all, not every day do you hear of a fresh face earning a BAFTA nomination. But Gourav isn’t just an actor. He’s a singer, a songwriter, a musician; and with each project, he’s been pushing boundaries.

Join us for a refreshing and real conversation with the charismatic Adarsh Gourav—from his latest release Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan, to how the Jamshedpur boy manifested moving to Mumbai, and from his debut in My Name is Khan to his thoughts on social media, love, masculinity and lots more…
