I have been digging on (and into) the @collaborationdevices The Compressor for a while now. The direct ease of operation, the VU meter, and the separate drive controls all combine for a winner of a bass comp. Plus it sounds GOOD.
This here’s a VCA comp based on the SSL, which is known for clean and quiet operation. But great comps add a little sauce too, and you can go from a pinch of dirt to a gravy boat of full throated roar with the separate drive control which has its own foot switch.
This one stayed on my home board if that tells you how much I like it.
