I’m curious to know your opinion on why I would retain this memory so clearly…and what do you think the purpose for it is?” My response: Retaining memories of a time before you were born is certainly rare past the age of 5 or 6, but not unheard of. Advanced stages of awakening can also bring a remembrance of experiences from the remote past. Such experiences are meant to reveal the broader, more universal identity we have beyond the individual roles and personalities we play. Given the way you describe your experience as a self-validating knowing, I suspect that the value of these memories serves a similar purpose—to connect you to your unlimited state of Being that transcends the limitations and history of this life experience.
